The Washington Post reported that the donation was one of many largest the NGA had acquired in a decade. NGA staff mentioned that they would use the closure to preserve art work, plan purchases, and develop exhibitions. Plans for renovating conservation, building, exhibition prep, groundskeeping, office explanation, storage, and other internal services were also prepared, however would not be applied for many years.
